Join me Wayne, a passionate kombucha brewer, for a two-hour interactive, fun workshop. Together we shall learn how to brew some delicious Kombucha safely and effectively. Kombucha is a fermented probiotic beverage, made out of tea, and SCOBY - the kombucha culture. It tastes sweet, sour and a bit tangy, a flavor only avid Kombucha lovers know about. Kombucha is said to have a wide range of health benefits through its organic acids as well as being great for gut health. It is great for digestion and also helps the body detox from harmful chemicals and substances. Kombucha is also very refreshing and is a healthy tonic that can be enjoyed any time of the day, and it is a healthful alternative to soft drinks. What will I learn? Throughout the workshop, class, and tasting, we will be going through the whole process of how to make Kombucha from start to finish; the ingredients and tools needed, first fermentation process, second fermentation process, bottling procedure, proper SCOBY care, tasting of some delicious kombucha, as well as right instruction throughout the workshop. I will be answering all your questions as well as preparing together a batch of kombucha for you to take home with you. This workshop is intended for people interested in kombucha, both beginners and experienced, or anyone interested to learn a new hobby in the kitchen. All participants are encouraged to ask as many questions as they can! I look forward to welcoming you inside the world of Kombucha. What’s Included? All participants are given a 1L glass jar, a fresh starter, and a bottle for the second fermentation, and also be able to join the community workshop FB group should they require further assistance with their brewing journey. Apart from that, these workshops are a place to connect and have fun! About the host: Wayne is an avid Kombucha aficionado, from his first taste, it was love at first sip. But its roots go way deeper as his grandma used to brew her own Kombucha inside her little kitchen, at the age when he was 7. He rediscovered Kombucha during the COVID pandemic, and started his own brewery in Gozo and currently teaches people how to brew delicious Kombucha in workshops and classes. How long is the session? Approx. 2hrs
